It all began in the early 70’s in the imagination of a ten-year-old kid growing up in East Texas. “One night upon returning from the East Texas State Fair (a revered annual event in my home town of Tyler) Dad asked, “Did you ride the SuckleBuster? It was out back…but hey, they only let the BIG kids ride it”, he said with a huge grin. I had no idea what a SuckleBuster was, or if my Dad was serious but I wanted to find out. I dreamed it was a big, bold, crazy-spinning, wild ride that could scare you right out-of-your-pants. Had I missed the greatest fair ride of all time? I went back next year and checked out back just to make sure Dad was kidding. He was. But the name stuck around…” Said Dan Arnold.

As time continued on Dan continued to experiment over the years with spices and began keeping his “secret spice recipe” in the cupboard for easy use. When Dan and his wife Cheryl found themselves becoming more health conscience they noticed that most seasonings they could find had MSG, artificial fillers, dyes, preservatives and other crazy ingredients. At that point, Dan and Cheryl decided to produce high quality seasonings that tasted great and were healthy for you as well.

In 2006 the Arnolds created SuckleBusters Inc. and revealed that “SuckleBusters” actually means “Bustin’ with Flavor”, it’s the WOW factor in their products you quickly learn to love so much.

All products produced by the Arnolds are made with the best All-Natural ingredients that can be found. They hold no chemicals, preservatives or artificial ingredients focusing on wholesome products with a keen eye on quality. You will notice a “No Bad Stuff” logo on each and every bottle that comes from SuckleBusters.

When I began looking for something to try out of SuckleBusters products, there were a few that caught my eye. You must start with the BBQ Sauce and Seasoning Combo, it is the perfect starter kit that anyone could need to make the perfect briskets, pork ribs, pork butt, chicken or even fish – anything you like barbecue flavored.

This combo comes with three different rubs and two bottles of sauce and only cost $29.95. Great bargain right??

A 4 oz. Competition BBQ Rub is included and is made for the competitive cook, working excellent on a brisket. It has a sweet and savory flavor with an excellent aroma. Not too much salt. The rub is mild but flavorful and can be used alone or combined with other ingredients to create a more robust flavor profile. The recipe was designed by competition cooks, for competition cooks and has won multiple Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion calls. This rub makes a great general purpose rub for any BBQ.
A 4 oz. Hog Waller All Natural Pork and Rib Rub is also included in the set. Plop down, rub around in Hog Waller and enjoy the tender-est, juiciest and best tasting ribs in town! This a powerful blend of spices, specially made for pork ribs but it is also good on any other type of pork. This pork rub has a lot of sweetness with two types of sugar, salt, pepper, onion, garlic and a nice level of heat provided by cayenne and smoky chipotle.

The other rub included is the Hoochie Mama 4 oz. it’s name speaks for itself, the Hoochie Mama BBQ rub is Hot, Sweet and Smoky. This BBQ rub is bustin’ with paprika, black pepper, salt, sugar, chile powder, onion, garlic and chipotle. This rub is excellent on any BBQ meat or veggies. It is especially good on briskets and other smoked meats. Rub it on, the paprika forms a deep, hearty bark and the flavors provide a beefy flavor and a nice kick of heat. This is a great competition rub and recently took 2nd in brisket at the Louisiana State BBQ Cook-off.

The 12 oz. bottle of Original BBQ sauce is included in the starter combo set has a sweet, tangy and spicy twist. This is a great vinegar base sauce that has won 5 major awards in 2009-2010 alone including the Chile Pepper Magazines – Fiery Food Challenge, Best of the Best BBQ Sauce Contest, Silver Scovie Award for All Natural BBQ Sauce and First Place two years in a row at the National BBQ Associations BBQ Sauce Contest. It has a slightly smoky flavor plus a little kick of heat and is an excellent all-around BBQ sauce. Great for Grilling! Use it on barbecue beef, briskets, steaks, ribs, chicken, sausage, pork, seafood, turkey or any grilled food to bust out a good barbecue flavor. And remember IT HAS NO BAD STUFF.

You also get a 12 oz. container of SuckleBusters newer members, Honey BBQ Sauce. The Honey BBQ Sauce is sweet and slightly tangy. The sauce has a mild flavor and is best used as a finishing glaze or dipping sauce. The color imparts a bright red onto the meat. As the name says, it’s made with all-natural honey.

While you are spending time checking out, which I am sure you will, check out the Original and Chipotle Pepper Sauce. SuckleBusters pepper sauces have won many awards as well. SuckleBusters Pepper Sauces are thick n rich. They are not runny, like many other “hot sauces”. Texas Heat has an award-winning blend of peppers and spices that provides a unique combination of flavor and heat.

I also have to take a moment hear to brag on the A-Mazing Fresh Salsa Fixings that SuckleBusters offers. These fresh fixings as they are called come in individual packets that you get either mild, medium or hot. I chose medium, it is their newest award winner in the category. You mix the packet with one can of diced tomatoes (or fresh if you are down here in the south like me) and a quarter cup of water. Viola! Fresh salsa. You can also purchase a jar pre-made if you prefer to keep that in the fridge instead.
Now, I must admit, this is my review and everyone has their own opinion but I am going to leave this one going with what Dan and Cheryl Arnold will tell you, “Try our award winning All-Natural Seasoning, Sauce and Such, we ‘Betcha get BUSTED too! “
